Auto Club Recognizes Top Repair Facilities (LOS ANGELES, June 2, 1999) — Twenty-seven vehicle repair shops will earn top honors from the Automobile Club of Southern California for maintaining the best customer satisfaction and service quality levels in the industry. The honorees were selected from among more than 700 Approved Auto Repair facilities, which are independent businesses regularly inspected by the Auto Club that must adhere to strict requirements on service, training and equipment. The fourth annual awards ceremony will be held Thursday, June 3 in Cerritos. "These awards are especially meaningful because the winners have been selected from among the elite facilities of the repair industry," said Ed Lindsay, manager of the Auto Club's Approved Auto Repair program. "The award winners have surpassed our stringent Approved Auto Repair requirements, so they truly represent the best of the best." The Auto Club selected the quality award winners based upon independent surveys of repair shop customers, as well as upon the results of the Club's regular facility monitoring process. Eighty-three Approved Auto Repair facilities also will win recognition from the Auto Club for the number of years that they have met the program's standards. Those with 10, 15 and 20 years' tenure as Approved Auto Repair shops will be given longevity awards. "The repair shops earning longevity awards have demonstrated a deep commitment to serving their communities with integrity," Lindsay said. "Year after year, they maintain and upgrade their equipment, training and service so they can continue to earn their customers' trust and the Auto Club's seal of approval." Six Southern California repair shops will earn both quality and longevity awards:
